INTIMACY

"YES, I AM THE VINE; YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. THOSE WHO REMAIN IN ME, AND I IN THEM, WILL PRODUCE MUCH FRUIT. FOR APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING." // JOHN 15:5

The one thing that as Christians we are reminded of constantly, is the fact that Jesus loves us. We hear it so often while growing up in a Christian environment that we genuinely start to see it as an ordinary thing or it loses its impact completely. This is such a sad reality because the love that Jesus has for us is so immense that no matter how many times we fail him he still lifts us up with his mercy and grace. Nothing we can do could make Jesus love us any more or any less.

Sometimes as Christians, I believe we view God as such a high and mighty power that we forget that he is our friend and all he wants to do is spend time with us. We are so hung up on letting him down that we miss the most important part. Jesus has said yes to us. We don't need to prove ourselves to him because he's already excepted us with his arms wide open. Wether you're a Christian or not, God has said yes to you everyday of your lives, and thats never going to change. He's just waiting for us to say Yes to him.

I know that just like myself many of us are guilty of not trusting God. When our situations grow harder our initial reaction is to blame God, but we forget that God is good no matter our circumstance. We become consumed with hurt and pain, and it hides our vision. God is Good, and no earthly circumstance could ever change that. We need to stop focusing on the pain and we need to worship God, the one who loves us more then anyone ever could.

Our intimacy with God is the most powerful tool we have, because if we remain in him nothing can prevail against us. The truth is if our perspective is focused on God and his goodness that no earthy emotion or circumstance could amount to that. Everything we do for God needs to come from intimacy with him. We don't need to live for Gods approval, we are invited to live from it because of his unconditional love for us. The longer we stay connected to God and become aware of our need for him, the more of Gods character fills our heart and our trust in him grows deeper. That is what living with God is all about.
