I HAVE GIVEN YOU AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE ON SNAKES AND SCORPIONS AND TO OVERCOME ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY; NOTHING WILL HARM YOU // LUKE 10:19
From the very beginning, God gave us authority. The authority to subdue. He also gave us a choice. The freedom to choose.
When many atheists have tried testing me on my beliefs and my faith, they always test me on this one question, "Why would a God so good afflict pain and even death upon those he loves." I would always try explaining it as well as I could but I never understood why myself. I knew that God didn't necessarily cause the pain, but I always wondered why he would sometimes not take it away. The truth to why this happens isn't down to God. We had a choice, and we choose death over life. Its easy to pass the blame onto God, but God didn't create death. He created life. The day we choose the wrong tree, and with the authority and the freedom of choice that we were given by God, we allowed temptation to lead us. Its because of us that death and disease came about. By taking a bite of the things God forbid us from, it opened the door for the enemy, and it allowed pain and death to be conflicted upon our lives. So when people ask me why I follow a God who causes pain and even death, I can say it's not, and never was God, the one who created life, but it was us. You and me, who choose death, and still are to this day.
Ever since the day we choose to disobey God and stay in control of our own lives we created a broken relationship with God, and broken relationships leave gaps for the enemy to come. When we walk with shame in our lives we're walking with the enemy, and when we're walking in fear of man, its impossible to walk in the fear of God at the same time.
You need to ask yourself if you're trying to do something in your own strength. Are you trying to remain in control of your own life? God gave us authority, but he dosen't want us to use that authority against him. When we refuse to commit our worries to God, we end up carrying them on our own shoulders, and they create a physical heaviness on our lives. There is also a difference between taking our worries into Gods presence, and committing them to him. When you pray for things that you worry about, such as finance and health, God doesn't want to bless you in the ares that you're fearing. Instead, take authority of those fears, and choose to fully commit them to God. When you commit, God takes. What he takes, God cleanses. What he cleanses, God fills. What he fills, God uses. When you take authority over the things you're fearing, and choose to commit them to god, he could end up using the things you feared to bless you.
I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED IN, AND I'M CONVINCED THAT HE IS ABLE TO KEEP WHAT I HAVE COMMITTED TO HIM.
